OUR REAL WORLD

OUR REAL WORLD

In our real world

there is

war,

and rumors

of more wars.

In our world there is

phenomenal beauty

in ordinary

and simple things;

demanding pressures

that threaten to

diminish

body and spirit.

In our world

we experience

devastating losses

and jubilant discoveries;

and

peaceful, healing times.

Our world

is plunging and progressing

into worse and better

at the same time;

the stretch inflates,

and the pace

increases

as information explodes

and technology

gallops

headlong

into cyberspace.

Who are we?

and

Where did we come from?

and

Why are we here?

and

What are we doing?

and

When

and

Where are we going?

This is a dangerous

pilgrimage.

Suffering

leaves no exemptions.

We are all wounded.

Our wounds abound—

father wounds,

mother wounds,

sibling wounds,

predacious wounds,

marital wounds,

relational wounds,

vocational wounds,

war wounds—

Wounds

that fester and

confine,

Wounds

that block perception

and project illusion,

Wounds that

enhance fear and

separate us and

erode our sense

of oneness—

Wounds

that can also

humble us

and embrace us

and transmute us

into genuine

Soul

Liberators.

……Because

the world we live in

is also transformative,

hopeful,

encouraging,

wise,

conscious and

inspirational.

We honor the moon,

we dance to the music,

we touch one another gently,

we weep tears of enchantment;

we give and share and embrace,

we marvel in astonishment,

we are surprised by joy,

we dream and hope, think and thank;

we are dumbstruck by generosity,

we meditate and rest in quietness,

we heal and we serve in love,

we sleep and dream and

we wake up

every morning

into the mystery and

the magic

of

another

cosmic

epiphany.
